Music instead of 'HiFi'

After a few months of use, the LRS+ has played its way into my heart. It's simply music and less hi-fi. A little patience and then just dive in. It also works wonderfully with a Class A tube amplifier, despite its relatively low efficiency. Pure finesse and joy.

The king of loudspeakers

No box can beat it, only critics could be the certain lack of dynamics which results in not so forward sound, in your face type. But other than that there is no downside. And of course you need a sub for best dynamics

A slight disappointment

After many enthusiastic reviews, especially on YouTube, I wanted to try out the LRS+ for myself. After 10 days of trying it out, I'm a little unsure. The sound is well-balanced, transparent and appealing and yet I can't quite understand all the hype. Sure, considering the price, the sound is fascinating and has a certain something. But I miss the differentiation in the bass and a certain fullness and physicality in the overall sound, it remains somehow flat. The physicality (wooden body) of a grand piano or acoustic bass, the fullness of a saxophone sound or the punch of an electric bass are a little too restrained. I used both a transistor (Norma) and a Class A single-ended tube amplifier from Unison Research. The source was a Rega 10 turntable with a Benz Gullwing cartridge and a Luxman SACD player.
For me, it's a good and stylish loudspeaker for the bedroom. I will definitely try the LRS+ out again in my music room. Maybe I'll acquire a taste for it ;)
